LabTrac System Requirements

LabTrac Server Requirements

A dedicated server is recommended for high-use campuses where student population exceeds 20,000 and there are multiple high-use computer labs. Lower activity campuses may utilize dual-use servers or combine the server functionality with the login/out activity. The server should have the following configuration:

• 2 GB Hard Disk Space
• 512 MB RAM (Minimum) / 1 GB optimal
• Operating system with TCP/IP protocol preconfigured
• Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP/2003/Server Operating System on Pentium IV or better
• Macintosh OS 9.2 or later (OS X recommended) on a G3 or better
• Netscape 4.76 or later OR Internet Explorer 5.0 or later

The Client Module is normally installed on each computer in a computer lab to lock it from use until a student logs in. Each computer in the lab should have the following system configuration:

• 2 GB Hard Disk Space
• 256 MB RAM (Minimum) / 512 MB optimal
• Windows 98/NT/2000/XP/2003/Server Operating System on Pentium III or better
• Broadband internet connection - DSL or Cable
• Netscape 4.76 or later OR Internet Explorer 5.0 or later
